Sadhrana village, Gurgaon in Haryana has been adopted by AIWC as a rural project. Initially, a literacy centre with craft training for women of this village was started. Training programme for a rural woman was organised in detergent making, book-keeping, food-processing and drying of vegetables such as Ginger, Methi, Mango-pulp etc. in the solar dryer. There are 8 self-help groups involved in the production of manure through the process of vermiculture and cultivating 6 acres of land for growing of food. A submersible pump for irrigation has been installed. A model multi-dimensional environmental practices programme has been set in motion in the central office.
