A First Day special Cover was
released by the Chief Post Master General of
Delhi, Ms. Jyotsna Diesh and presented
to the Hon'ble Smt. Sushma Swaraj, Minister
of Information and Broadcasting. A brief power
point presentation, on the history of AIWC,
its present projects and activities and future
programmes was presented by the President of
AIWC, Dr. Aparna Basu, who also welcomed
the guests. Smt. Sushma Swaraj released the
book "Women's Struggle: History of AIWC
- 1927-2002", written by Dr. Aparna Basu
and Dr. Bharti Ray. She also inaugurated the
Seminar on Women and Media. The panelists were:-

The function took place in
the Aga Khan Hall at 6, Bhagwan Dass Road, the
headquarters of AIWC. The hall was beautifully
decorated and full to capacity. Smt. Shobhana
Ranade, Patron AIWC proposed the vote of thanks.
The afternoon sessison was a Youth Forum which
was inaugurated by Smt. Shiela Dikshit, Chief
Minister of Delhi and the keynote address on
Women and Media was delivered by Smt. Margaret
Alva, Member of Parliament and Chairperson of
the Parliament Committee on the Empowerment
of Women. Students from various college of Delhi
were present. This was an interactive session
between them and a distinguished panel consisting
